What are some powerful data mining tools for building predictive models?

I was an early adopter of AnswerMiner after being tipped off by a colleague during our evaluation of data cataloguing products. Here’s a GIF version of the demo/showcase video from their Welcome page, showing the tool in action:

Platforms like AnswerMiner (there are many, for instance RapidMiner whose YouTube channel is well worth a visit as you can see their founder Ingo strolling through the forest whilst introducing fun Data Science topics) are quite inspiring to try out for the first time, and put things perspective in terms of learning when to code & tinker, versus when to zoom out to a tool-aggregation platform that will simply do the work for you (to some extent).

As a data modeller (whether in planning your Data Engineering scripts, or actually building Data Scientist / ML models) you want as much automation as possible whenever it’s the case that an extra manual/human touch is not going to add much to the mix.
